How to Choose the Right Rug Size: A Complete Guide
Rug size is one of the most important decisions when decorating your home. A rug that's too small makes the room look disproportionate, while one that's too large can overwhelm the space. In this guide, we'll show you how to choose the perfect size.
The Basic Rule: Bigger is Better
When it comes to rugs, there's a simple rule: it's better to choose a size that's larger rather than too small. A small rug "floating" in the middle of the room is one of the most common decorating mistakes.
Living Room — How to Choose?
Option 1: All furniture on the rug The rug should be large enough for the entire sofa, armchairs, and coffee table to sit on it. Leave about 30-45 cm of bare floor around the rug.
Recommended sizes: 250×350 cm or 300×400 cm
Option 2: Front legs of furniture on the rug The most popular solution. The front legs of the sofa and armchairs are on the rug, the back ones — on the floor. This creates a cohesive seating area.
Recommended sizes: 200×300 cm or 240×340 cm
Option 3: Coffee table only on the rug A smaller rug under the coffee table. Works well in very large living rooms as a zone-defining element.

Bedroom — How to Choose?
Option 1: Large rug under the entire bed The rug extends from under the bed by about 60-90 cm on each side. The most luxurious solution.

Remember Proportions
