No — Common Thread operates entirely online, with no physical showroom. Instead, we offer something a showroom couldn't replace for a bespoke purchase anyway: a personal video consultation and a kit of wool and colour swatches sent straight to your home, so you can judge the material in your own light and surroundings before settling on a final design.

What does the ordering process look like?

We start with an online consultation, where we get to know your room and what you're after. Next, we send wool and colour swatches and prepare the rug's design — size, pattern, knot density. Once you approve the design, the rug goes to the loom, and you receive photos from the atelier as it's woven. Finally, before the finished rug ships, you confirm it looks exactly as we agreed. The whole process typically takes 6–12 weeks from design approval.

Will I see the rug before it ships?

Yes, always. Once the rug comes off the loom, we send you photos and video of the finished piece. We arrange dispatch only after you've confirmed it — this is one of the pillars of how we work, because with a bespoke purchase, trust has to run both ways.

Because every rug is woven from scratch especially for you — in the size, colour and pattern you choose — the standard 14-day right of withdrawal, which applies to ready-made goods, doesn't apply here. That's a natural consequence of a rug being made to order rather than taken off a shelf. That's why we settle every detail of the design together before weaving begins, and show you the finished rug in photos and video before it ships — you approve it before it ever sets off.
