Common Thread holds no rug inventory, because we believe a rug you'll live with every day deserves more than a pick from a ready-made range. Instead, we invite you into the atelier: a space where we design your rug from scratch, together. You decide the style, the colour palette, the knot density and the exact dimensions, and we match your design to an atelier in the Atlas Mountains, where it's tied by hand, knot by knot. Beni Mrirt
The premium sibling of Beni Ourain — a denser knot and finer wool for interiors where every detail counts.
Boujaad

How it works

Consultation
We arrange a short video call to get to know your room, its dimensions and what you want from your rug. This is when we choose a style together — from raw Beni Ourain to vivid Boujaad — as the starting point for your design.

Design and swatches
From the consultation, we prepare an initial design and post you physical swatches of wool and dyed thread. You feel the material, check the colours in your own home's light, and only then approve the direction of the design.

Wool and colour
We settle on the final colour palette, knot density and wool weight. At this stage, we refine every detail — from the shade of ecru to the depth of black in the pattern — before the design goes to the atelier.

Weaving and loom updates
Your rug is woven by hand in a partner atelier in the Atlas Mountains. Over the weeks it takes to weave, we send you photographs straight from the loom, so you can watch the design become a finished rug.

Approval and delivery
Once your rug comes off the loom, we send photos and video of the finished piece for your approval. Only once you've confirmed it do we arrange insured shipping to your address.
Sizes
Because every rug is woven from scratch, size is never a constraint — order a classic living-room size, a narrow runner for the hallway, or dimensions fitted to the centimetre for a particular room. Treat the sizes below as a reference point, not a fixed price list — we always settle on the final dimensions together, during your consultation.

Loom updates
As your rug is woven, we send you photos and brief updates straight from the loom, so you can watch it take shape knot by knot, week by week.

Pre-dispatch approval
Before the rug leaves the atelier, we send you photos and video of the finished piece. We arrange dispatch only once you've confirmed it matches your vision.

Certificate and care kit
Every rug comes with a certificate of authenticity and a wool care kit, so you can keep it looking its best for years to come.

Insured delivery
We ship the finished rug by insured door-to-door delivery — nothing to worry about until you're unrolling it in your own living room.
